Dreams/Horrors of House Hunting PART 2

Ok so this week has been a tough week.  But good news!  The house hunting has nearly come to an end.  I put an offer on a house (not the 3 bed/2.5 bath I spoke about before).  This house is 3 bed/2 bath and 100 sqft less BUT it has tons more upgrades then the other.  AND its got a covered front porch, screened in covered back porch, and a fence!  Can you say awesome???  So yes my Realtor and I worked a big case to get the price I wanted and kudos to her for coming off the battlefield victoriously!  Go Team "G"!!!  (Our last names both start with G lol)  I will have to say I prayed very hard about this.  And I know I had several friends and family praying for me as well.  I know that God had a huge part in us being able to get the house for the price I wanted.  My Realtor even told me this was the first time she's gotten a new construction home for under the asking price.  History in the making baby!

So pretty much the horrors are gone.  We got through the hard parts of getting approved (which was a piece of cake because I have awesome credit), deciding on a house (VERY hard), and making an offer that the seller would accept (SUPER SUPER hard) lol.  It's supposed to be a pretty easy ride from here. *keeping my fingers crossed*  Tomorrow I have to send out the Due Diligence and Earnest money checks.  Next week order the appraisal, and next weekend pick out my brand new stainless steel fridge!

My week couldn't have ended any better.  ***ALL SMILES***

Be blessed ya'll and have a safe weekend! =)

Today was one of those days where I wish I could throw back to Hell where it belongs.

Today was one of those days where I want to close my eyes and wake up into next week.

I just want to be anywhere else in the world except in my own body.

Dreams/Horrors of House Hunting

So house hunting has been more stressful than I thought it would be.  Soooo many choices....pre-owned...new...two-story...one-story...garden tub...stand-up shower....privacy fences...decks......ahhhhhhh!!!

I thought I had almost found "The One".  It has the whole works...3 bed/2.5 bath...laminate wood floors, spindle staircase, formal living/dining rooms, huge family room, kitchen with cherry wood cabinets, all black appliance...AND two car garage, privacy fence, and deck in the back. Well my dream home shattered today when I found out that it's been turned over as a foreclosure...which for all you other first-time home buyers means: No 1-year warranty, pay your own closing costs, pay your own house inspection, and pretty much you buy the house as is.  And even if I was okay with all the extra costs it could take MONTHS to close and move in.  *Triple sad face*

Well I guess it wasn't meant to be.  Now I'm looking at another home now that I like and is at an amazing price.  It doesn't have as many upgrades as the first one I was looking at but it's still very nice and plenty of space.  3 bed/2.5 bath...it's a brand new house so I will be the first one to live in it which is nice and all the appliances will be brand new.  I really like the floor plan of this house too.  I hope I will fall in love with it once I see it in person. Cyber house hunting just really doesn't cut it.  Okay...well maybe it did for the first home I was looking at but that one just proved to be too good to be true.  It's okay though.  I'm confident that "The One" will find me soon!  Because we all know that we don't find the house...the house finds us!  Right???  lol *all smiles*

Why Beba's Kitchen?

So I didn't really know what I wanted to name my blog.  I don't have a specific theme for my blog.  It's not just to talk about my life...or a 365 cookbook challenge...or a crazy "let me give you advice" blog.  It's kind of a place to put all the words swimming through my head.

In my culture, the women usually gather around in the kitchen and well...talk about everything and anything there lol.  Sometimes we are cooking together or just drinking coffee or playing yatzee in the kitchen table.   We can laugh, cry, get angry...but in the end...it's a place where I can feel comfort, relaxed, and right at home.  This is my "kitchen" so feel free to make yourself at home.  =)

And maybe you are asking what Beba means?  Or even how it's pronounced?  It is a slang Spanish word for baby.  We use it in the family a lot.  My husband started calling me that from the beginning and it just stuck from there.  It's pronounced "beh-bah" (Spanish vowels) not "bee-bah" like some people confuse it with lol.  No worries though!

Well I guess this is it for now.  Have a blessed day!
